Brief explanation of this technology and its use:
Research participants are summoned in groups of 50 and each participant receives an electronic device for use during the study. They are requested to respond to certain questions or evaluate images which they see projected on a screen by using the previously distributed devices. Participant response is then transferred to a laptop computer through a radio receiver which enables the researcher to access results immediately in the form of graphics. Results are also accessed in the observer room through a television screen. This method ensures that participant evaluations are both deciphered statistically (frequencies, means…etc) and displayed as graphics. Data gathered from each session of 50 participants are either analyzed separately or combined for further analysis. Thus, it is possible to assess data regarding the sample as a whole as well as particular data concerning sub-sample groups.
